Chromium fork for linux named after radioactive element No. 90.Always built with the latest stable version of Chromium.
Intended to behave like and have the featureset of Google Chrome, with differences/patches/enhancements listed below.
Features:
• Performance Improvement: Compiler flags for AVX CPU support and performance enhancement.
• Feature Enhancements: HEVC/H.265 support, JPEG XL support, FTP URL support, Live Caption, PDF annotation, and DoH patches.
• User Experience Improvement: Disable various infobar warnings, add new search engines, and update prefetch settings.
• Project Name Change: Logo and Branding/Naming changed to Thorium logo, Thorium name, and “Alex313031” being appended to “The Chromium Authors” in credits, etc.
• New Features: Enable Parallel Downloading by Default, inclusion of pak utility for packing and unpacking *.pak files, and a .desktop file with useful cmdline flags.
• Additional Tools: Includes installer patches and files to include ChromeDriver and thorium_shell (content_shell), with a .desktop file being provided for thorium_shell (named thorium-shell.desktop and shows in desktop environments as Thorium Content Shell).
