Forta.chat Application
Forta.chat is an open-source Android messenger for Matrix that lets people chat with Bastyon integration. It uses end-to-end encryption and a local-first design, with messages, media, and metadata stored on the device and synced in the background.
Sign-in uses a Bastyon private key instead of usernames or passwords. The app supports direct and group chats, public rooms, invite links, reactions, polls, read watermarks, and message editing or redaction. It also works offline for outgoing messages until sync is available.
Forta.chat includes 1:1 audio and video calls over WebRTC, plus photos, videos, voice notes, video circles, and file uploads. It requires Android 7.0 or later.
